Nong Pleum : Plai Tawan : Outreach Programmes : Nong Dah : Poon Larb and Lynchee : Nam Chok & Pumpui : Adopt a Vet : Lamyai & Meena : Makam & Nam Khong : Pepsi : Musa : Manau: Sakura Sakura Sakura is another elephant that we have come across before in this small world of street elephants, when we found the others in Khao Kiew and our trip around in January '07 we missed her because she was hiding even from us but our history with her goes back even further than that. Before she was prematurely separated from her mother, back before we'd even bought Nong Pleum off the streets, Amp spotted her whilst on holiday in the deep South of Thailand - we tried to bring them both off the streets by buying them but her then owner was not interested and we forgot all about the incident. So you could say she's was our first attempted rescue - we got her in the end! In the meantime she was separated and has spent her time between Bangkok, Chonburi and Prachinburi. She looked after by Lung Manoj and all are sponsored by Mr Lyle Turner in memory of his sister Heather Turner-Graves. |
